EL1ZA is a lamp with no on/off switch. To turn her on, you have to have a conversation with her. She is sarcastic, dismissive, and generally uninterested in the user. Inspired by sci-fi depictions of AGI like HAL 9000, and uses humor and friction to ask how it feels when an object subverts interaction expectations. Built on a Raspberry Pi with a custom PCB and a synthesized voice.
